Usage guide

#

Compare processing engines for large data sets and expensive sorting, filtering, or aggregation.

Integration steps

  1. Define a comparison workload

Use realistic row counts and calculations in your app. Simple scrolling through a small sample cannot establish engine performance.

  2. Configure engines and thresholds

Review engine and proThreshold to choose an engine and switching threshold. Also define unavailable behavior.

  3. Inspect the active engine

Read getActiveTier() and compare timings with identical data and conditions. Verify result equality too.

Expected results

Compare performance while distinguishing requested settings from the engine actually in use.

This table is not an engine benchmark. The Pro engine requires valid entitlement and a suitable runtime; performance varies with data and hardware.

Useful terms

WASM
A technology for executing compiled calculation modules in the browser.
Fallback
Continuing through another execution path when the requested engine is unavailable.

Using this feature in your product requires the Pro runtime and a valid license.
