GRID FEATURE · PRO

Combine multiple filters

Combine multiple filters, such as text search and a value list, within one column. This differs from enabling separate filters on different columns.

How it works and when to use it

Manage the declared order of child filters together with the saved model structure. Restoring an old model after changing column definitions may leave conditions incompatible.

Using this feature in a product requires the Pro package and a valid license. Matching setting names do not enable Pro features in Community.

In the code, grid is the Grid element prepared in the installation chapter. Check each example's data and settings, and implement the app functions and server endpoints for your project.

Example 1. Combine a name search with an allowed-value list

Add both a partial-name condition and a product-list selection to the product column. Follow the multi declaration and parts structure in ColumnFilterDecl.

Verify the result: Find rows containing Sensor that also belong to the selected products. Clearing one condition leaves the other child conditions active.

Example 2. Inspect and reuse filter models

Read the compound conditions users create in the UI, inspect their structure, then save them.

javascript
const model = await grid.getFilterModel();
console.log(model);
const report = await grid.setFilterModel(model);
console.log(report);

Verify the result: A valid model with the same configuration is reapplied. Follow the type contract instead of assembling the input model from arbitrary strings.

Example 3. Diagnose conditions incrementally

If conditions narrow results more than expected, clear each child filter in turn and compare row counts. Distinguish this from setFilterModel(null), which clears all filter families.

Verify the result: Identify which condition excluded a row. Also compare the saved model with the model actually applied.

Combining features and troubleshooting

Do not confuse AND/OR relationships between child filters with AND/OR in an advanced condition tree. Supported combinations depend on the filter type.

Too many hidden conditions in one column make results hard to understand. Show a summary of active conditions.
